ACALISE holds familiarisation seminar

The Patron, Management and Steering Committee of the African Centre of Excellence in Agro-Ecology and Livelihood Systems (ACALISE) on Wednesday 22nd February 2017 held a successful seminar that was aimed at familiarisation and bringing the entire UMU community up to speed with what is and what was on-going with ACALISE. The event was gladly hosted by the ACALISE Patron Fr. Prof. John.C. Maviiri. Other Guest speakers were members of the steering committee including the main Presenter and Principle Investigator Assoc. Prof. Julius Mwine. Also in attendece were students and staff of Uganda Martyrs University. After the presentations, the audience was given an oppportunity to ask several questions which were gladly and satisifactorily answered by the speakers.

Retreat for staff of School of Arts and Social Sciences (SASS)

Staff from SASS organised a successful retreat that run from 9th-11th February 2017. Away from the main campus and it's daily routine, the staff camping at Hotel Zebra in Masaka had enough time to relect on the School and their work. "Building A Stronger SASS Together" was the retreat's mission and the theme was "Forging SASS And Launching Into An Outstanding Academic and Creative Rising Trajectory". Objectives of the retreat included Team building, problem solving and a celebration of achievements.
